    There are five foreign consulates general (USA, France, Germany, South Korea, Thailand) and a government agency (UK) in Chengdu.
 

Airlines 
   Chengdu is a hub of transportation in Southwestern China. It has direct domestic and international fights to everywhere in China and many places in foreign countries. It is 2,048 km away from Beijing, which could be reached in 2 hours by air. Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport is seated in the central section of Shuanxi Plain and is 16 km southwest to the center of Chengdu City. It is an important aviation hinge and distribution center of passengers and cargo in the southwestern region. It is stationed with over 20 civil aviation and port units, including Southwestern Civil Aviation Administration of China, China International Airlines Southwest Division, Sichuan Airlines, etc. The airport is connected with the urban district via expressway. By the end of 2002, Shuangliu International Airport has been open to navigation with 68 cities, including 60 domestic cities, 7 international cities (Chengdu-Amsterdam, Chengdu-Bangkok, Chengdu-Fukuoka, Chengdu-Osaka, Chengdu-Seoul, Chengdu-Singapore, Chengdu-Tokyo), Hong Kong and Macao.

Highway
    Chengdu Highway Network covers a large area of China, including highways of Chuazang, Chuanzhen, Chuanxia, Chuanqing and Chengyu to provinces in southwestern and northwestern China. Other expressways are: Chengdu-Chongqing, Neijiang-Zigong-Yibin, Mianyang-Guangyuan, Le’shan-Emeishan, Yaan and Dujiangyan. Besides, a highway from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou is now open for tourism. Also, the government has decided to build highways from Chengdu to Shanghai.

Railway
   Chengdu is the biggest hub of railway network of southwestern China, including railway lines of Baocheng, Chengkun, Chengyu and Chengda reaching places like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Yunnan, Shanxi, Guizhou, Hubei, Henan, Gansu and Xingjiang.
